Reading both clefs simultaneously is also becoming easier. I had difficulty initially reading both at the same time and I became use to the numbers representing the notes, however, with the finger numbers switching keys, it makes my old approach incorrect and now I am truly learning the notes. I am to page 95 in the book (Lullaby).
I have been learning what a melodic third is and how to hit an octave with the same hand.
On a side note, I will try to contact you but I won't be at tomorrow night's class. I will attempt to email you. See you next week
Keep working on finger strengthening exercises! Those small fingers can be so tricky.
ReplyDeleteYes! Depending on fingering numbers is a great way to get yourself off quickly, but as you found out- it can trip you up in the end! Are you becoming more used to reading the actual notes instead of the fingerings? We can take a look at that this week.
Intervals can sound a little tricky, but they're just a way of measuring the distance between notes. They can also help you figure out what two notes are in a piece based on the distance between them. How do your hands feel when you reach an octave?
Thanks for letting me know about last week's class. I didn't get an email from you, but I don't check my marist email very often I do check ldenitto@pvcsd.org. if you need to get in touch with me. I also usually check all of the blogs frequently- I'm not sure why I didn't see this message until now! See you this week.
